The Oak Ridge Fire continues to burn near the Pueblo/Custer County line, approximately 3 miles northwest of Beulah. Smoke impacts have remained minimal over the last several days with limited fire/smoke activity observed. Friday afternoon and evening, fire managers plan to initiate burning operations that will reinforce fire lines and aid in containment efforts. Due to these operations, smoke production is expected to increase, and light to moderate smoke may be present in areas near the fire, possibly reaching Beulah to the east, and Westcliffe to the west. While no significant public health impacts are expected, health precautions are recommended for those who are sensitive to smoke exposure, in areas where smoke is apparent.
