Smoke continues Tuesday

Smoke from the Gold Mountain Fire and Aspen Acres Fire will continue to impact Colorado today. Air Quality Health Advisories remain in effect near the Aspen Acres Fire and Gold Mountain Fire.

Aspen Acres Fire

Beulah is finally getting a break. Smoke cleared out Monday evening, and folks woke up to Good air quality this morning. This isn't the end of smoke for Beulah- smoke is likely to pool in the valley again tonight. An Air Quality Health Advisory is still in effect for southwest Pueblo County. Rye, Colorado City, and Beulah will see moderate to heavy smoke throughout Tuesday through Wednesday morning.

Gold Mountain Fire

Smoke from the Gold Mountain Fire continues to pool along Highway 550. On Monday afternoon, thunderstorms cleared some of the smoke. However, moderate to heavy smoke is still possible today. Locations along Highway 550, as far north as Delta, are likely to see smoke today. Additionally, this fire is spreading northward, so locations along Highway 50 may also start to see smoke. We are monitoring this fire and will update the blog if the situation changes.

Fishhook Fire

We are also monitoring the Fishhook Fire in Routt County. Folks near the fire may notice haze and moderate smoke. We are tracking changes and will issue an Air Quality Health Advisory if the smoke worsens.

Willow Fire

Smoke from the Willow Fire continues for south-central Colorado. Twin Lakes saw heavy smoke this morning, but smoke is expected to clear this afternoon. Light to moderate smoke is possible in Leadville, Twin Lakes, and Buena Vista today.
