Smoke remaining minimal in Colorado, for now

We have seen improved air quality here in Colorado due to decreased fire behavior from in-state fires, and less transport of smoke from out-of-state. We are quite pleased to have this break from the smoke. However, we want to remain aware of the conditions that could affect us, even if this is not expected to happen immediately.

Wildfires continue to burn in the Pacific Northwest, with smoke and poor air quality present in many areas of  Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. This smoke is being carried eastward, and much of it is not reaching the surface.

Weather models indicate that the current pattern that is keeping smoke to the north of Colorado will continue through the weekend and into next week. There are some indications that the pattern may shift by mid-to-late next week, and smoke may return to our area. It is too soon to put much confidence into this possibility, but we always seek to be aware, and keep you informed.

We will continue to monitor smoke conditions with an eye on the potential for these changes in Colorado. We will update information here as things develop.
