Today, wildfire smoke is expected to be minimal across Colorado. This includes locations near the Aspen Acres Fire, which saw heavy smoke earlier this week. Overnight, rain helped to clear the smoke. For Wednesday and Thursday, Good to Moderate air quality is expected in Beulah, Rye, Colorado City, and Pueblo.
Yesterday, there were widespread rain showers on the Western Slope. The fires burning in western Colorado- Elk, Gold Mountain, Willow, and Fishhook- did not grow significantly on Tuesday. Today, these fires are not expected to produce heavy smoke. Expect Good to Moderate air quality today in locations near these fires.
Here's what's coming next. This afternoon, rain is expected across the Western Slope. Eastern Colorado will start to see showers late Wednesday evening into Thursday. Another dose of rain is coming on Thursday. Rainy weather will continue to clear out residual smoke and limit fire growth this week.
