New wildfire start in northwestern Colorado

A new fire has emerged in Moffat County, approximately 12 miles southwest of Craig, CO. The Yampa Fire (also called the Fuhr Gulch Fire) is estimated to be between 100-500 acres. Smoke from this fire may be visible along Highway 13 between Axial and Craig, along Highway 40 west of Craig, as well as from other locations in this area. Smoke may settle in low lying terrain along the Yampa River overnight Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
