Tuesday update for Aspen Acres smoke

 Smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire will continue on Tuesday, but changes will arrive later this week.

This morning, smoke is heavy in Rye, Colorado City, and Beulah. An Air Quality Health Advisory remains in effect for these locations until 9 am Wednesday. However, we are tracking changes that may improve the smoke situation this week.

Tuesday afternoon, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms near the fire. As the week goes on, the chance for thunderstorms and measurable rain increases. Gusty winds from these storms may help to clear out smoke, while rain could slow fire growth. In other words, air quality might improve throughout this week. As these storms roll through, we will update the blog with any air quality changes.
