Canadian wildfire smoke has increased particle pollution levels all across northeastern Colorado Tuesday morning. Although the smoke is not nearly as heavy as what was experienced across the eastern United States last week, it is noticeable with poor visibility throughout the region.
Although smoke levels are not high enough for an advisory at this time, some health impacts may be felt today including irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat. You will certainly want to take it easy today if you suffer from asthma or other lung ailments. Please keep in mind that an Ozone Action Day Alert is also in effect today for the northern Front Range region (Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins, Greeley, and surrounding areas). So health impacts could be further increased in those areas.
Smoke levels could fluctuate across northeastern Colorado through Wednesday, but are not expected to get much worse than current conditions.
