Sunday smoke update

The Aspen Acres and Gold Mountain Fires are still the focus for today's smoke.

Near the Aspen Acres Fire, an Air Quality Health Advisory is in effect for southwest Pueblo County. Today will be similar to yesterday. Air Quality is expected to remain Good in the City of Pueblo, but smoke will remain heavy for Beulah, Rye, and Colorado City.

The situation has changed slightly near the Gold Mountain Fire. The wind direction is expected to shift today, coming out of the south. Because of this wind shift, the advisory area has changed. Yesterday, heavy smoke was expected south of the fire, in San Juan and Hinsdale Counties. Today, the advisory only remains active in Montrose and Ouray Counties. Smoke will likely only impact areas close to the fire, and north of the fire.
