Air Quality Health Advisories are in effect until at least Sunday morning. But today, the heaviest smoke will be near the Aspen Acres and Gold Mountain Fires.
Smoke from the Aspen Acres Fire will mostly affect southwestern Pueblo County. Rye, Colorado City, and Beulah will see moderate to heavy smoke today. Overnight Saturday, heavy smoke is possible in Beulah. However, the city of Pueblo is getting some relief. Haze is visible in Pueblo this morning, but smoke is expected to stay in the upper atmosphere.
Smoke from the Gold Mountain Fire is pooled along the Highway 550 corridor. Folks Montrose, Ridgway, Ouray, and Silverton woke up to heavy smoke this morning. In Hinsdale County, Lake City also had heavy smoke this morning. In these areas, moderate to heavy smoke is possible on Saturday and will last until at least Sunday morning.
